ENEA – Italy’s National Agency for New Technologies, Energy and Sustainable Economic Development – has selected CTS H2 s.r.l. to supply and integrate the prototype experimental station for e-fuel and biofuel production at the Trisaia Research Centre (MT), under the PNRR Next Generation EU programme (Mission 2, Component 2, Investment 3.5 “Hydrogen Research & Development”). Generation, purification and compression: one fully integrated system.
The system combines three technologies in sequence: AEM electrolyser EL 4.1 AC (500 Nl/h, 35 bar, purity ≥99.90%), CTSH2 self-regenerating dryer with hybrid PSA/TSA technology (final purity 99.999%, no routine maintenance) and a multi-stage compressor up to 200 bar with 50 L storage cylinder. All assembled in a 19” Rittal rack cabinet, with integrated electrical panel and certified industrial components.

The industrial safety PLC autonomously manages start-up, shutdown and protection: in case of anomaly it cuts power, closes solenoid valves and triggers a controlled depressurisation. Full safety, at all times.

The system is CE certified (Machinery Directive 2006/42/CE) and approved for use in technology environments and high-precision laboratories – such as those at the ENEA Research Centre. Not an off-the-shelf product: a solution designed, assembled and tested in-house to meet each customer’s exact specifications.
