On July 9, 2025, the official launch of the
European project H2READY – The Future of Hydrogen in the Italy–Slovenia Cross-border Area was held at the EDA Center in Nova Gorica, Slovenia. The initiative is co-financed by the Interreg VI-A Italy–Slovenia programme.
Among the project’s technical partners is CTS H2, playing a key role in training and practical demonstration of hydrogen-related technologies. The goal? To provide local authorities with hands-on knowledge through a fully functioning test bench that showcases the real-time dynamics of the hydrogen supply chain.
The energy transition requires awareness, and awareness comes from understanding. That’s why CTS H2’s training approach is based on real, working systems, allowing participants to see and comprehend how each element of the hydrogen chain – from electrolysis-based production to storage and final use – operates individually and in close coordination with the others.
The demonstrative test bench developed by CTS H2 replicates a complete hydrogen system, offering a tangible view of:
- how hydrogen is produced from renewable energy sources,
- how it is safely stored,
- how it can be reconverted into electricity or used as a clean fuel.
Each component of the hydrogen value chain has its own logic and specific technology. Understanding them individually is essential, but true progress comes when these elements interact seamlessly and efficiently as a system.
Only in this way can we achieve the greatest benefits in terms of:
- energy flexibility (produce when there is sun or wind, consume when needed),
- reduced dependence on fossil fuels,
- local energy self-sufficiency.
CTS H2 guides public institutions and stakeholders through this learning journey, offering demonstrable and replicable technologies capable of inspiring informed choices and scalable projects.
The future of energy lies in shared knowledge.
With H2READY, CTS H2 makes hydrogen understandable, accessible, and operational.
