CTS H2 takes center stage at the Hydrogen Day of the SIER Summer School 2025

19 September 2025

CTS H2 brings its expertise to the Horizon NAHV and Interreg Itaslo H2READY projects during the Hydrogen Technologies Day at the SIER Summer School 2025.

On the occasion of the SIER Summer School – Hydrogen Technologies Day, organized by the University of Udine on 19 September 2025, CTS H2 contributed with a presentation focused on the company’s role in hydrogen production and applications, with particular emphasis on the integration of these technologies into regional and national energy and industrial systems.

The event was part of the 11th edition of SIER (Introductory School on Renewable Energies, 15–20 September 2025), organized by the Polytechnic Department of Engineering and Architecture of the University, in collaboration with internationally renowned scientific institutions such as the ICTP “Abdus Salam” in Trieste and the INFN. The school offered a multidisciplinary program on renewable energies, structured around lectures, hands-on laboratories, and industry case studies, and brought together a selected audience of master’s students, PhD candidates, early-career researchers, and professionals in the field, for a total of about 40 participants.

The CTS H2 presentation took place within the training module dedicated to “Hydrogen and Energy Storage,” providing a concrete overview of industrial and territorial applications. In this context, CTS H2 shared its expertise gained within the framework of the North Adriatic Hydrogen Valley (NAHV) project, a cross-border initiative funded by Horizon Europe involving more than 30 partners in Italy, Slovenia, and Croatia. The project foresees 17 pilot applications for the production and use of green hydrogen in strategic sectors, with an estimated capacity of over 5,000 tons/year of renewable hydrogen. Additionally, the H2READY project was presented, which addresses one of the key challenges of the energy transition in the cross-border area between Slovenia and Italy, by strengthening the role of municipalities in developing and implementing hydrogen-based solutions.

The presentation highlighted not only the role of CTS H2 across the hydrogen value chain — production, storage, and utilization — but also the importance of embedding these technologies within the broader framework of national and European energy policies, from the National Hydrogen Strategy to the EU Green Deal and decarbonization targets.

Through discussion and exchange with participants, the initiative contributed to disseminating advanced knowledge, fostering cross-sector dialogue, and strengthening local skills and expertise connected to the energy transition.

This activity fully represents a dissemination and valorization action of project results, in line with the objectives of European research and innovation programs. The CTS H2 intervention significantly enhanced the visibility of NAHV project activities, creating synergies between academia, industry, and institutions, and contributing to the development of a robust and replicable hydrogen ecosystem at the European scale.
